Writing the Assessment Report
Draft, review, approve, and deliver the assessment report; download the draft certificate.
The Assessment Report editor produces the narrative report for an engagement. Open it with the Write Report button in the engagement workspace (shown for mock assessments), or go directly to the engagement's report page.
The report editor
The header shows the report's status badge — Draft, In Review, Approved, or Delivered to Customer — along with:
- Save Draft — saves your work. An "Unsaved changes" indicator appears when there are edits pending.
- Preview — opens a Report Preview dialog showing the report as the customer will see it, including the results summary and all sections.
The left sidebar tracks Report Progress with a completion percentage and the section list:
- Executive Summary (required)
- Scope of Assessment (required)
- Assessment Methodology (required)
- Findings Summary (required)
- Recommendations (optional)
- Conclusion (required)
Click a section to edit it in the main editor; each section shows guidance text and an example placeholder. Previous Section / Next Section buttons move through them in order. Below the progress card, an Assessment Summary card and a Control Results card (Total, Met, Not Met, N/A) keep the numbers in view while you write.
On the Findings Summary section, click Auto-Generate Summary to pre-fill a summary from the recorded control results, then edit it.
Report workflow
The primary button in the header advances the report's status:
- When all required sections have content, Submit for Review appears. Confirm in the dialog — you can still edit until the report is approved and delivered.
- While In Review, the lead clicks Approve Report and confirms.
- Once Approved, click Deliver to Customer and confirm. Delivery makes the report visible to the customer, and the editor becomes read-only.
Draft certificate
For completed engagements with a passing or conditional result, a Certificate card appears below the editor with a Download Certificate button. It generates a draft certificate PDF for review — the official certificate is issued by the Authorized Certifying Official outside the tool.
