Your usage allowance
How much conversation your plan includes, where to see how much you have used, and what happens when you reach a limit.
Every answer your vCISO gives costs real money to produce, so every plan includes an allowance of conversation for each business. If you reach a limit, your vCISO says so and picks up again when the limit resets.
Seeing how much you have used
Open Settings and scroll to Your usage at the bottom. It shows:
- Exchanges, last 30 days: how much work your vCISO has done for you. An answer that looks things up along the way can count as more than one exchange.
- Conversations: how many conversations you have had.
- Last talked: when you last used it.
- Today's allowance and This month's allowance, each as a bar with the share used so far. The monthly bar shows the date it resets.
The bars show a share of your allowance, not money. The allowance is measured in what the answers cost to produce, which is not your bill.
The limits
| Limit | Resets |
|---|---|
| Today's allowance | Over a rolling 24 hours. |
| This month's allowance | On the 1st of each month, at midnight UTC (the evening before, in US time zones). |
There is also a short-term brake on sending a very large number of messages in a few minutes.
When you reach one
A new message is not answered, and you see one of these instead:
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| you have reached today's limit for the vCISO; it resets within 24 hours | Today's allowance is used up. |
| you have used this month's allowance for the vCISO; it resets on the 1st | This month's allowance is used up. |
| that is a lot of questions in a short time; give it a few minutes | Too many messages in a short time. Wait a few minutes. |
| the vCISO is at capacity right now; try again in an hour | The service as a whole is busy. This is not about your usage. |
Only new messages wait. Everything else keeps working while you are at a limit: your earlier conversations, your records, your limits and settings, approving or declining proposals, and your reports and share links.
