Setting up your practice
The four-step welcome wizard and the setup checklist that follows it.
The first time you sign in as a coach, Praevio runs a four-step wizard. The rest of the coach app stays out of reach until you finish it, so the app knows who you are and what you coach before it shows you a dashboard.
Step 1 — Welcome to Praevio
Tell Praevio about you. This is what the people you coach see.
- Your name (required)
- Business name (optional) — leave blank if you train under your own name
- Specialty (required) — a dropdown covering strength and conditioning, powerlifting and Olympic lifting, bodybuilding and hypertrophy, general fitness and wellness, postpartum and pre-natal, post-rehab and corrective, athletic performance, endurance and running, and other
- Short bio (optional) — up to 240 characters, with a live counter
Step 2 — Set up your practice
One field: Timezone. Praevio auto-detects it from your browser and you can edit it. It keeps event times and schedules honest, and you can change it later in settings.
Step 3 — What do you coach?
Pick every avenue that applies — at least one is required:
- A team — school or club roster, schedule, meets, results and personal records, parent and athlete portal.
- Individual clients — personal training: programs, sessions, measurements, intake and waivers.
- A class or group program — group fitness through a gym or community program: roster, schedule, announcements.
Each is $5 a month after the free trial, and a running total appears under the list as you select. Nothing here is permanent — you can add or drop avenues at any time by creating or archiving teams and classes.
The first avenue you pick becomes your starting focus, which is what your home dashboard shows until you work somewhere else.
Step 4 — You're all set
The last step confirms the setup and calls out the liability waiver as the next thing to do, followed by a short "what's next" list tailored to the avenues you chose. Click Go to dashboard to finish.
The waiver is not optional busywork if you take personal-training clients: until you have a published waiver document scoped to clients, the Invite to app action on a client stays disabled. See Waiver documents.
The setup checklist
Your home dashboard shows a checklist until every item is done, or until you dismiss it with the close control in its corner. Each row links straight to the page that completes it.
In personal-training focus the items are: complete your coach profile, add your liability waiver, add your first client, build your first program, and assign a program to a client.
In team or class focus they are: complete your coach profile, set up your waiver, create your first team or class, add athletes or participants to the roster, and schedule a practice, meet, or session.
"Complete your coach profile" ticks when your business name, specialty, and timezone are all filled in — so it can still be outstanding after the wizard if you skipped the optional business name.
